Research areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, integrative approaches for studying biomolecular interactions, assemblies, and machines, protein engineering and synthetic biology, and systems biology. The Department of Biochemistry is located on the lrchel campus, in direct vicinity of the biological, biomedical, and physical science departments of the University of Zurich. Strong ties in research and teaching are in place with the nearby ETH Zurich, the PaulScherrer-Institute, and the University Hospitals.
