R&D Associate

The Wyss Zurich translational center is a joint accelerator of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, which was made possible by a generous donation from the Swiss entrepreneur and philanthropist Dr. hc. mult. Hansjörg Wyss. The mission of Wyss Zurich is to drive the clinical translation and technology transfer of outstanding scientific discoveries into new therapies for patients and breakthrough innovations in the emerging fields of Regenerative Medicine and Robotics, and to promote hybrid technologies in these fields. Wyss Zurich brings together some of the world's leading experts to form multidisciplinary teams, pooling their knowledge and expertise.
Project MUVON is advancing a platform technology for autologous skeletal muscle regeneration, utilizing patients' own cells in autologous regenerative therapy for skeletal muscle tissue. This approach aims to offer safe and effective treatments for millions of patients suffering from severe, debilitating diseases by not only repairing damaged tissue but also enhancing the regenerative potential of weakened muscles. Our initial therapeutic focus is on treating stress urinary incontinence in women, with our clinical development currently in Phase II.
Your responsibilities
We are looking for an ambitious and flexible R&D Associate to support the team in daily R&D tasks, related mainly to primary cell culture work, using molecular biology assays.
- Conducting research experiments
- Depending on experience also planning. If needed incl. literature research
- Reporting and presentation of research results
- General laboratory maintenance
Your profile
- B.Sc./ Laboratory technician degree
- Experience in aseptic cell culture working methods
- Experience in cultivation of primary cells
- Experience in standard molecular biology methods: i.e qPCR, Western Blot, immunostaining, histological preparations etc.
- Experience in Flow Cytometry is a plus
- Well organized, strong attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure
- Open to learning and initiating new methods of working
- Good communication skills and strong team player
- Proficiency in English, German is an advantage
- Valid work permit for Switzerland
