The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a
Professorship for Gynecology
starting on July 1, 2022.
The professorship is associated with the position of Director of the Department of Gynecology at the University Hospital Zurich.
As Chair you will lead the Department, promote research in the field of gynecology, particularly at the clinical and translational level, and actively participate in teaching as part of the medical curriculum. Additional responsibilities include leading an in-house research program as well as coordinating junior faculty development, residency training, and continuing education in gynecology. The position also includes an active role within the Women's & Children's health Medical Network.
The successful candidate holds a specialist title in gynecology and obstetrics and a title/diploma in one of the subspecialties recognized in Switzerland (SGG). Alternatively, the successful candidate has equivalent continuing education and surgical experience in the respective subspecialty. 1) whether (P) you performed the surgery independently (as main surgeon) (S) you performed the surgery with the assistance of an experienced colleague (T) you assisted as an instructor (teaching assistance) (A) you assisted
2) and what type of intervention was performed (invasive (i), minimally invasive (mi), robotic assisted surgery (rc))
A habilitation (or equivalent qualification) in the field is required. An internationally recognized research record including competitive extramural funding in a promising and innovative area of gynecology is expected. Willingness to collaborate with other surgical disciplines and a sense of overarching goals are particularly important for this position. As a highly integrative person, you are expected to maintain excellent relationships with external hospitals and referring physicians as well as with local, national and international professional societies.
German language skills (level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages) are required for this position. If not already present, corresponding language skills must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
