The University Children's Hospital Zurich is the largest pediatric hospital in Switzerland and one of Europe's leading centers in pediatrics. Its Translational Brain Tumor Research Group, headed by Ana Guerreiro Stücklin, MD PhD, focuses on the development of new therapies for children with brain tumors.
The postdoctoral researcher will work on a project characterizing the molecular landscape of pediatric gliomas and will be involved in other projects in the lab.
Your responsibilities
- Analyze large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets to identify driver events, especially oncofusions
- Characterize the molecular landscape of pediatric gliomas and integrate clinical data to characterize clinically relevant subgroups
- Support other projects in the group (e.g. RNA Seq data analysis of in vivo experiments)
- Direct mentoring by Dr. Ana Guerreiro Stücklin (University Children's Hospital Zurich, Translational Brain Tumor Research Group) in collaboration with Dr. Florence Cavalli (Institute Curie, Paris, Computational Biology and Integrative Genomics of Cancers Group)
Your profile
- PhD in bioinformatics, statistics or computer science with knowledge and experience in cancer research
- Experience working in a Unix environment
- Experience in statistical analysis using R
- Strong communications skills and able to work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of cancer cell biology is an asset as well as experience of collaboration with biologists for solving concrete biological problems
