The successful applicant will join the Political Geography research group and a dynamic, diverse and internationally oriented team. We are looking for candidates who consolidate our regional expertise on South or Southeast Asia and our thematic focus on violent conflict, territory, development and state formation. Our research is ethnographically grounded, theoretically informed and invested in research partnerships with the regions we work in.
This position will offer you the opportunity to further develop your research agenda. We are offering a stimulating research environment, and start-up funds to develop your profile and visibility. The position involves teaching on Bachelor- and Master levels. In particular, you will co-teach the core course in political geography on Master level, and (co-) supervise Master and PhD students in your field of expertise.
Applicants should have a PhD in geography or related disciplines, substantial field work experience in South or Southeast Asia, a robust network for scholarly exchange in the region, and an emerging international publication profile.
