Administrative/Research Assistant with a focus on Communications in the field of banking and finance, commercial law, and sustainable finance 50 %
The Department of Commercial and Business Law of the University of Zurich and the Research Network for Sustainable Finance (www.susfin.ch) is seeking to fill the position of a Administrative / Research Assistant with a focus on Communications as of 1.7.2021 or 1.8.2021 at the Chair for Law & Finance under the direction of Prof. Dr. iur. Kern Alexander. Employment would provisionally be for 6-12 months in the first instance, with a possibility of extension depending on the candidate's performance and upon mutual agreement.
Communications and content management of the Chair's website and the website for the Research Network for Sustainable Finance – www.susfin.ch. You will be responsible for CMS (especially Squarespace, Magnolia, Wordpress), web design, multi-media production, social media management, and possibly marketing and strategy, depending on your profile
Personal assistance and administrative duties at the Chair for Law & Finance, including translations and communications, office maintenance tasks, overseeing the budget, contribution (including multi-media) to teaching and exams, and possibly, research for publications and scientific projects
Research assistance to Prof. Dr. iur. Kern Alexander. Research will include the regulation of financial firms and climate change issues, corporate governance of financial firms in achieving environmental sustainability/climate change objectives, among others
Inter-institutional collaboration and setting up a new programme headed by Prof. Dr. iur. Kern Alexander
Strong background in social sciences, including law, or economics or finance, or communications, marketing, or a related field
In case of administrative/research Assistant position: very good Master's degree especially in the field of banking, finance, and/or commercial and investment law or related social science discipline, or in the field of communications, marketing, or economics, or related discipline. In certain cases, a student who has almost completed the Bachelor may also be considered
Affinity to CMS, web design, multi-media production, and social media, or related area
Research as well as internal and external communications will be conducted in English and in German. Excellent written and verbal proficiency in both of these languages is therefore indispensible
