Start of employment June 2025 or as soon as possible, temporaryThe Center for Reproducible Science (CRS) at the University of Zurich pursues the goal to improve the overall reproducibility of scientific research. Now the CRS is to be extended into a new Center for Reproducible Science and Research Synthesis and made permanent. With this Senior Researcher position in research synthesis and meta-research methods, the CRS expands its activities in developing concepts and methods to assemble, critically assess and integrate existing evidence across methodological and disciplinary boundaries. These include 'research on research' methods to identify and remedy gaps, biases and blind spots in existing research and research methodologies. With this, it is the vision of the CRS to create a hub for integrating the knowledge encompassed by increasingly detailed and specialized individual research contributions.
Your responsibilities
- Initiate and carry out research projects in the CRS's core research areas of multi-methods research synthesis and meta-research methods. This includes writing funding applications and managing grants.
- Supervise PhD students and other researchers in projects related to research synthesis and meta-research.
- Teach research synthesis methods in graduate programmes.
- Organise and hold seminar series, workshops, talks, etc. on research synthesis methods and reproducible research practices.
- Create and lead a working group on research on research at the Swiss Reproducibility Network (SwissRN).
- Stay up-to-date on current local, national and international research activity in research synthesis methodology (institutions, research groups, and topics) and proactively seek opportunities for collaboration.
Your profile
- PhD degree in an area with a clear methodological focus
- Contributions to research synthesis methodology (e.g. with publications in the journal "Research Synthesis Methods")
- Proven interest and expertise in multi-disciplinary research
- Ability to coordinate and cooperate in large-scale research projects
- Proven teaching record at university level
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Excellent knowledge of English and communication skills
