The Assistant Professorship for Digital Higher Education is concerned with the development, research, and implementation of digital teaching and learning methods in the higher education context. It focuses on key questions such as: "How can students receive personalized support in large classes?", "How can productive learning trajectories in digital education be identified and promoted?", and "What competencies do teachers and learners need for effective digital education?" A particular is on technology-enhanced feedback, learning analytics, feedback literacy, and the use of artificial intelligence.

As a DIZH-Brückenprofessur, the professorship closely collaborates with the Zurich University of Teacher Education, which opens up opportunities for collaborative research projects.

The position is initially limited to three years, with the possibility of extension. The goal of the position is to develop and work on a self-chosen research topic within the thematic context of the professorship as part of a dissertation

Your responsibilities

  • Writing your Ph.D. dissertation
  • Collaboration in research projects
  • Scientific publication and presentation activities
  • Teaching responsibilities amounting to 1 Semesterwochenstunde
  • Administrative and organizational tasks within activities of the professorship

Your profile

Completed degree in a relevant field (e.g., Educational Science, Psychology, or teaching qualification for secondary education level II)
  • Strong interest in researching topics related to Educational Technology, Learning Analytics, Mediendidaktik
  • Robust knowledge of empirical research methods, particularly quantitative methods, or the willingness to develop expertise in this area
  • Proficiency in writing both German and English
  • Flexibility, reliability, an eye for quality, and team spirit
