Start of employment as soon as possible, temporaryThe Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development (JCPYD) at the University of Zurich (UZH) is offering a project coordinator position for its newly established Swiss Evidence in Education Lab (Swiss EdLab). The Swiss EdLab connects researchers in education and developmental science with experts from academia, policy, public education authorities, and practitioners. We are dedicated to translating and disseminating scientific knowledge to provide policymakers with the evidence needed for informed decision-making, advancing equitable learning opportunities for all children, and shaping national and international research and policy. Our activities are firmly grounded in scientific evidence, practical experience, and the lived realities of children, citizens, and the broader education community.
Key activities of the Swiss EdLab include:
- Translating and disseminating research evidence to stakeholders.
- Training education professionals in data literacy to empower evidence-informed decision-making.
- Organizing participatory policy labs, where scientists, policymakers, and other stakeholders collaborate on applying research findings and collected data to address policy needs.
The successful candidate will manage science communication activities, assist training and events, and contribute to reporting and documentation, working closely with a network of academics, policymakers, and practitioners.This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive change in education policy, tackle critical social challenges, and connect with a vibrant community of education experts. Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with research groups to translate, and disseminate scientific findings to audiences in research, policy, and practice.
- Take care of science communication (including social media platforms and the website) of EdLab activities including events and publications.
- Create content such as blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates to highlight the Lab's activities, events, and research outputs of our network.
- Support outreach and coordinate evidence literacy training focused on education and development in Switzerland and beyond.
- Contribute to project-related publications, reporting, documentation and conference presentations.
- Collaborate with a national network of academics and experts, supported by the JCPYD, and the global Jacobs Foundation EdLabs network.
Your profile
- MA in education, psychology, communication, journalism, public policy, social science, or related roles.
- Familiarity with the education policy landscape in Switzerland is an advantage.
- Previous experience in organizing events and coordinating stakeholder engagement activities is an asset.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools (e.g., website CMS, social media platforms).
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create clear and compelling content.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
- Native-level German proficiency; fluency in English; a good command of French is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, service orientation, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
