Professorship of Oral Surgery 100 %
Start of employment according to agreementThe professorship is based at the Department for Oral Surgery of the Center for Dental Medicine and represents the subject in research, teaching and patient care. The professor will be appointed as head of the Department of Oral Surgery. The Department is primarily responsible for dentoalveolar interventions and the treatment of oral mucosal diseases. Additional expertise in oral medicine, dentomaxillofacial radiology, and the pathology of the oral cavity is desirable. Parallel to this call, the University of Zurich has opened a call for a new professorship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ).
The successful candidate will conduct internationally visible research with high potential for innovation and translation. He or she will have a degree in dentistry and a specialist title in oral surgery (Fachzahnarzt für Oralchirurgie, SSO) or equivalent training as well as an excellent clinical track record. Experience in the management or deputy management of a university clinical unit is expected. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding, in leading a research group and in continuing education. Organizational skills and a willingness to work in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with the Department of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery at the USZ, complement the profile.
