Professorship of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 100 %
Start of employment according to agreementThe Professorship is based at the Department for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University Hospital Zurich and represents the subject in research, teaching and patient care. The professor will be appointed as head of the Department for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The department is primarily responsible for tumor surgery, the treatment of complex fractures and the correction of malformations. Parallel to this call, the University of Zurich has opened a call for a new professorship in Oral Surgery at the Center for Dental Medicine (ZZM).
The successful candidate will conduct internationally visible research with high potential for innovation and translation. He or she will have both a Medical degree and a degree in Dentistry, a specialist title in oral and maxillofacial surgery (Facharzt für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie, FMH) or equivalent training, a habilitation or an equivalent qualification as well as an excellent clinical track record. Leadership experience as the head or deputy head of a clinical university department is expected. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding, in leading a research group and in continuing education. Organizational skills and a willingness to work in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with the Clinic for Oral Surgery at the ZZM, round off the profile.
