The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship and Chair of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The professor will be appointed as head of the Department of Gastroenterology of Hepatology of the University Hospital Zurich and represents the subject in research, clinical care, and teaching.

We are seeking a dynamic, integrative, and collaborative individual with extensive clinical and scientific experience in gastroenterology or hepatology. A habilitation or an equivalent academic qualification, as well as board certification in gastroenterology (FMH), or an equivalent international qualification, are required. As the future head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, we expect the successful candidate to possess a successful leadership track record as head or deputy head of a clinical unit at a university hospital. In addition, you have a strong track record as a research group leader, you have secured competitive third-party funds, and contributed to student teaching, supervision of academic theses, and the promotion of early-career researchers.

We are looking for a participative and integrative leader with proven experience in fostering collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork. You are able to connect teams across different departments, establish a culture of mutual respect, and actively contribute to the advancement of research, teaching, and clinical care.
