The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship for Digital and Precision Laboratory Diagnostics.
We are looking for an expert in clinical chemistry with a dynamic, integrative personality and with extensive scientific and clinical experience. The successful candidate will represent the future Institute for Digital and Precision Laboratory Diagnostics in research, teaching and health care. Digital and precision laboratory diagnostics aims to use advanced technologies including AI and big data driven approaches to improve the accuracy, speed and personalization of diagnostic testing in medical laboratories at the molecular defined level.
FAMH or an equivalent degree in Clinical Chemistry is required. Ideally, FAMH in Immunology and FAMH in Hematology are also desirable.

The duties of the professorship include the management of an in-house research program, active participation in teaching within the framework of medical studies as well as the coordination of the promotion of junior staff and specialist training. The professor will be the managing director of the clinical chemistry lab and the cross-disciplinary automated clinical core lab at the University Hospital. Excellent leadership qualities, integration skills and a strong sense of cooperation are essential for the successful implementation of these diverse tasks.

An outstanding and internationally recognized research record in a promising and innovative research field of clinical chemistry and digital and precision laboratory diagnostics and successful acquisition of third-party funding is expected.
