Professorship ad personam for Proton Therapy 100 %

At the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), a position for a Senior Physician in Proton Radiation Therapy is to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position is combined with a 20% appointment as a Professor ad personam at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich and at the Department of Radiation Oncology of the University Hospital Zurich. It is planned that, subject to appropriate qualifications, the selected candidate will have the opportunity within 1–2 years after her/his start to assume leadership of the Center for Proton Therapy.

You are a dynamic and integrative individual with extensive expertise in proton radiation therapy, including the clinical care of patients. You hold a specialist qualification in radiation oncology/radiotherapy or an equivalent qualification and you have comprehensive clinical experience across the entire field of radiation oncology, including pediatric oncology, as well as clinical and scientific expertise in particle therapy and high-precision radiation therapy. A habilitation or an equivalent academic qualification is required. You have published in relevant scientific journals and possess experience in leading research projects, successfully acquiring competitive third-party funding as a principal investigator, as well as enthusiasm in teaching students and fostering early-career academics. Your participatory and goal-oriented leadership approach ensures an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists.

German language skills at level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages should be available or must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
