Start of employment 1 April 2026 or by agreement, temporaryThe Implementation Science in NursingGroup is based at the Medical Faculty's Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care and the University Hospital Zurich's Center of Clinical Nursing Science. Our research focuses on family health interventions and innovative, nurse-led models of care, primarily in acute-critical settings. We have a dual focus on intervention and implementation science research.
We invite applications for a 4-year Postdoctoral Research position in the SNSF-funded FICUScale implementation-effectiveness trial, which investigates the national scale-up of an evidence-informed, family-focused model of care in intensive care units (FICUS). This position will offer excellent opportunities to deepen your expertise in family-focused nursing interventions and / or critical care, implementation science, and clinical nursing research in an interdisciplinary, multi-lingual context.
Your responsibilities
This Postdoctoral Research position will play a central role in the FICUScale study, which will co-design and then test the effectiveness of different combinations of spreading and scaling strategies using a cluster-randomized trial. Responsibilities included:
- Collaborate with different research partners and teams involved in the project across Switzerland and internationally.
- Support planning and coordination of project-related research activities.
- Contribute to intervention and implementation strategy design.
- Prepare submission of the trial to the applicable ethics committee and support development of data capture systems.
- Organize, coordinate, and provide implementation support and capacity-building of resource systems during the trial.
- Coordinate analysis work using qualitative / mixed / quantitative methods.
- Work closely with members of the core research team, including PhD students, research coordinators, and senior researchers across the project.
- Contribute to supervision of doctoral students and to teaching-learning in the field of implementation science and interprofessional collaboration.
- Coordinate dissemination activities of the research team, co-author peer-reviewed publications and contribute to scientific and public lay presentations.
Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in nursing, critical care, health, or implementation science:
- PhD in Nursing Science, Public Health, Health Sciences or related field.
- Strong interest in family-focused health care and implementation science methodology.
- Research profile in intervention or implementation science research (research experience in clinical settings is an asset).
- Ability to work closely with patients, families, clinicians, and researchers across Switzerland.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and German.
- Sound communication skills in French or Italian is an asset.
- Proficient skills in interdisciplinary collaborations and project management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in diverse research teams.
