Start of employment 1 August 2026, fixed-termThe Department of Romance Studies (University of Zurich) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Italo-Romance Linguistics.
Your responsibilities
In this position, you will conduct independent research while contributing to Prof. Francesco Gardani's research areas (language contact, morphology, and linguistic typology) and assisting with the preparation of research proposals.
The position includes up to 15% teaching duties per year. This position is initially offered as a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
You will play an active role in organizing and participating in project meetings and workshops.

Your profile
You hold a PhD in a relevant field, such as General Linguistics and Italo-Romance Linguistics, and have a solid background in linguistic theory. You obtained your PhD no more than 5 years ago.
You have publications in academic journals in a relevant field, such as general linguistics, Italo-Romance linguistics, morphology or syntax.
Excellent oral and written proficiency in Italian and English is essential.
