Start of employment 01.01.2026, temporaryWe invite applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position in the research group of Prof. Dr. Owen Petchey at the University of Zurich, based in the city of Zurich, Switzerland. Our group investigates the determinants of ecological stability in microbial communities by integrating experimental approaches with conceptual and mathematical models of ecological systems.

- Designing and conducting experimental studies in microbial ecology
- Developing and applying conceptual and mathematical models
- Identifying key ecological questions and translating them into testable hypotheses
- Performing rigorous statistical analyses
- Communicating findings through publications and presentations
- Contributing to a friendly, collaborative, and inclusive research environment
Your profile
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants should have no more than two years of postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment. We are looking for candidates with expertise in:
The postdoc will also make career-appropriate contributions to teaching and have the opportunity to develop supervisory experience, for example by mentoring Bachelor's project students.
