Do you want to be part of an internationally renowned tumor genetics team exploring how protein expression links genotype with tumor phenotype to improve patient outcomes? The Institute of Medical Genetics at the University of Zurich is looking for a postdoctoral researcher (80-100%) to deepen understanding and publish new findings in this field.

You will be part of a small international research team in a friendly and supportive work environment. The University Hospital Zurich and ETH Zurich cooperate closely for the research projects. You will use cutting-edge technologies and have access to large patient cohorts as well as a well-equipped research and cell culture labs.

Your responsibilities

  • Apply established methods to generate global protein abundance and protein structural data in large patient cohorts in cooperation with proteomics experts at ETH Zurich and physician-scientists at the University and University Hospital of Zurich
  • Functional characterization of identified protein changes
  • Validation of results in independent patient cohorts
  • Presentation of results at national and international scientific meetings
  • Manuscript writing
  • Possibility of additional research projects

Your profile

Ideally, you have a PhD degree in biology, medicine or a related topic. We are looking for scientific ambition, interest and ideally experience in proteomics and its application to cancer patients. You have good technical expertise in molecular and cell biology methodologies, and genuinely enjoy challenging scientific work, with a great sense of responsibility. A good command of English is required.
