Project: Unintended Consequences of the New Regulatory Paradigm: Real Estate Prices and Financing the Economy
Your responsibilities
- The position is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
- Enroll in the Finance Doctoral Program at the University of Zurich.
- Work towards a dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Per Östberg.
- Design and execute data collection using web-crawling and PDF extraction from regulatory disclosure reports.
- Conduct data analysis using econometric models and quasi-natural experiments.
- Perform comprehensive literature reviews and engage in ongoing research activities.
- Participate in scientific dissemination, including writing for publications and presenting at conferences and workshops.
Your profile
- Holder of a Master's Degree in Finance, Business and Economics, Real Estate, Econometrics, or a related discipline with very good to excellent grades.
- Fulfill the admission requirements for a PhD at the University of Zurich.
- Experience or a strong willingness to learn quantitative data analysis using software tools such as R, Python, or Stata.
- Self-motivated for independent research with a keen interest in the project's thematic areas (real estate, banking regulation and financing).
- Demonstrated abilities in teamwork, reliability, and effective communication.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English (German beneficial).
