CLARIN-CH Content Officer; student assistant, 18-24 months 25 - 30 %

CLARIN-CH is the Swiss node of CLARIN, which stands for "Common Language Resources and Technology Infrastructure". CLARIN is a digital research infrastructure that offers open access to digital language resources and tools from all over Europe and beyond through an online environment (see https://www.clarin.eu). The CLARIN-CH Coordination Office is hosted by the Linguistic Research Infrastructure (UZH).

We are seeking an MA student at the UZH (e.g. Computational Linguistics, Linguistics, or similar) with knowledge of corpus linguistics, digital linguistics or language technology, a native speaker of German with excellent redactional skills in English to reinforce CLARIN-CH.

Your responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the National Coordinator in the following tasks:
  • Content creation (text, visuals, posters) for the CLARIN-CH website, Newsletter, LinkedIn account, academic events where CLARIN-CH takes part
  • Support to carry out CLARIN-CH activities and actions, such as workshops, surveys, training sessions
  • Creation of content for the SSHOC-CH website and LinkedIn account

Your profile

  • Training in corpus linguistics, digital or computational linguistics, language technology
  • Previous experience with content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress, Wix, Magnolia or similar
  • Previous experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar
  • Interest in learning about the Swiss landscape of research infrastructures and the Open Science paradigm
  • Technical and academic curiosity
  • Rapid learner
  • Good work organization
  • German native speaker
  • Mastery of English, both orally and in writing
