Animal Experimentation Coordinator 20 - 40 %
Start of employment as soon as possible, temporaryWe are seeking a highly organized and motivated part-time in vivo research specialist (20–40%) to support animal experimentation workflows in a dynamic academic research environment. Responsibilities include the preparation of animal license applications and amendments, as well as the coordination and review of the ongoing animal welfare documentation. Depending on interest and experience, there is also the opportunity for hands-on involvement in surgical and experimental procedures. The Sendoel lab studies the role of gene expression regulation in health and disease. Our lab employs a variety of in vivo techniques to investigate stem cell behavior in homeostasis, clonal expansions and cancer.

The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) combines cutting-edge stem cell and bioengineering research to advance regenerative therapies. Based on bio-inspired principles and novel biomimetic technologies, IREM research focuses on the replacement and/or regeneration of dysfunctional human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish physiological functions. Thematic priorities are translational regenerative technologies, cell-based regeneration and biomimetic tissue replacement, gene and cell therapy, stem cell biology and cancer, and translational neuroregeneration.
Your responsibilities
- Write and amend animal licenses in close collaboration with the lab members.
- Rigorous coordination and review of documentation related to mouse experiments.
- Communication and interaction with cantonal authorities.
- Optional: perform mouse surgeries and lentiviral injections depending on experience and interest. Coordination and oversight of mouse breeding activities.
Your profile
- Candidates must possess LTK1 and LTK2 accreditation for animal experimentation in Switzerland (required for the Deputy study director role).
- Experience with mouse experimentation.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
